(Portersville, PA) – The Moraine State Park Regatta is celebrating its 25th anniversary! Join us for a weekend of sun, fun, and adventure at Moraine State Park on August 3rd and 4th. Admission and parking are free, making it the perfect affordable summer outing for families and friends alike.

The Moraine State Park Regatta has become a beloved tradition, drawing families and outdoor enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate the beauty of our natural surroundings. This year’s event features a diverse range of attractions, ensuring there’s something for everyone:

  • Moraine Regatta 5k: Presented by XTO, this trail race will showcase the Sunken Garden Trail with beautiful views of the lake. Register on the regatta website.
  • Water Recreation: Presented by Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, attendees can try sailing, kayaking, fly fishing, stand up paddleboarding, SUP with your pup. Instruction including equipment is all free of charge, but waiver signatures are required on site.
  • Land Recreation: Throughout the weekend, try archery, ax throwing, multiple types of yoga (morning sessions both days, golden hour session, a yoga with butterflies session for kids). There is no cost to participate.
  • Live at Lake Arthur Live Music: Enjoy live music performances throughout the weekend, showcasing local talent in a variety of genres.
  • Lake Arthur Lily Pad Children’s Area: Presented by Early Learning Connections, families can delight in a variety of children’s activities. All activities in this area are free including nature experiences with reptiles and birds, games, crafts, seed planting activities, Lowes building kits, and kids fishing with provided fishing rods and instruction.
  • Vendors: Around 40 vendors total so far and counting, with almost every kind of food imaginable (even non-alcoholic canned cocktails). Peruse crafters, local businesses, and charitable organizations. Interested vendors can apply for participation on the regatta website, as limited vendors are still being accepted.
  • Car Cruise: Bring your classic car or your unique jeep, and the first 50 cars each day will receive a dash plaque. Donations are accepted but there is no cost to participate. New this year across from the Car Cruise, is the Classic Boat Cruise on Saturday, for showcasing vintage boats.
  • Fireworks: Presented by AHN, fireworks will be Saturday night, August 3rd around 9PM. In addition, LifeFlight is bringing their helicopter for people to check out throughout the weekend.
  • Butterfly Release: Presented by Oliver Outdoor, the mass release of butterflies is on Sunday, August 4th at 4PM. Purchase a butterfly on our website to release it on your own, in honor of or in memory of someone special.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and enjoy everything our beautiful park has to offer.”
